Presumably the people that live in one of those big grey bits - Greenland - actually vote in Danish elections, as Denmark is their sovereign state. It's not like they have a brutal polar bear dictator or anything.

I wonder what they do if you don't vote in those countries?

Yeah. Too much cost to educate people to force compulsary voting.

I take your point but 'Anyone notice any difference whatsoever when the Conservatives and the Libs got on from Labour last time'

Yes I have. Ecomony has picked up and public spending (in the areas that affect me) has noticably increased. I am noticably better off.

Still won't vote for any of them though

Re: So, is anyone not bothering to vote today?
Name a single time that voting ended up with a Government that everyone was happy with. Not One. Anyone notice any difference whatsoever in their day to day lives when Labour last took over from the Conservatives, nope me either. Anyone notice any difference whatsoever when the Conservatives and the Libs got on from Labour last time, no me either.

So to all those voters out there good luck on voting for whatever nobhead you think 'represents' you, he doesnt he is there to toe whatever party line he is told to and he couldn't give a fuck about the 'people' he is supposed to represent.

But as long as politicians continue to lie like fuck and propogate the myth that they will 'make a difference' then people will carry on with this charade every 5 years. Because it does'nt matter who gets in they will continue to fuck it up because they are politicians, who have no connection with real life and the supposed people they are meant to represent.

However, having said all that I'd like UKIP to get in because that Farage bloke makes me laugh

I haven't voted ever.

I've had a bet On Milliband to become prime minister and labour to win most seats.

I may be a wazock but I'm not daft.
I fucking love immigrants. They are cheap labour and moan much less than indigenous lower classes. I love Europe for pretty much the same reasons. I love furry animals. Super furry Animals.

Re: So, is anyone not bothering to vote today?
The whole, doing a quiz online to work out who you should vote for thing, seems to be a massive trend ahead of this election. There were a couple last time but nothing like this - obviously tech has evolved and they are easier and cheaper to create than five years ago. We've had threads about several of these sites on WHO, and I've been sent links to them loads of times over the last month.

I wonder if they actually help to turn non-voters into voters, boost turn out, ever change opinions of potential voters, or are just used as confirmation tools?

Russell Brad can fuck off and so can anyone else who either doesn't vote, or follows people like Russell Brand's suggestions of who to vote for.

Re: So, is anyone not bothering to vote today?
I find people who don't vote have no sense of the forefathers shoulders they are standing on. They are selfish, ignorant and simple minded people who have invested no time in working out if someone should represent them and if so what kind of person that person is. They are not involved in the system and shout abouse from the outside hoping that those who make an effort will hear them.

They are deluded and will ether run with the flow of those who do give a shit or get left behind.

Apart from that they surely are true radicals.

I understand your point,, they do count the turnout and no matter the reason people don't vote the fact remains if everyone followed suit we would get the change most people want.

Re: So, is anyone not bothering to vote today?
People who don't vote could be radicals, dribbling messes or just lazy people, there is no way to tell the difference is there, not voting isn't a message it's the exact opposite.

Fivetide 3:15 Thu May 7
Re: So, is anyone not bothering to vote today?
I think that's the crux of it. If you don't vote because you have thought long and hard about it and decided that this is the best course of action for whatever reason then you may have a very valid viewpoint, but through inaction you are totally indiscernible from those that didn't vote just because they were too stupid or lazy to get off their barstools. That's why many believe that the more constructive course is to actively not vote, at a polling station.

But you know, people will and have always voted or not voted as they see fit, and have/will always feel disenfranchised from every candidate or the entire process.

I think a cross or two is better than just a 'meh', but of course, it is certainly a personal democratic choice of sorts just to go with apathy.
